				|  | Examined briefly before the 1997 sale: contents of 1v

				HLG1F (where it is described as 'deux feuilles'). Although 
				the sketches on fol. 1r contains brief allusions 
				to material that first appears relatively early in the completed 
				movement, they were probably first adumbrated here as Mahler 
				attempted to clarify the initial entry of the chorus singing his 
				version of Klopstock's text, and were only later employed 
				incorporated into the opening section of the movement.  |
