Notes |
|
An incomplete transcription or original of
something very close to the opening of the scherzo of the First
Symphony. The handwriting and paper suggest an early date,
perhaps even before 1885, when some preliminary sketching of the
Symphony may have occurred. The material has some
connection with the early song
Maitanz im Grünen (March
1880; later reworked as 'Hans und Grete' in the Lieder
und Gesänge). |
