Notes

This copyist's manuscript, presumably prepared from the unlocated autograph full score ([AF1]), was annotated by Mahler and served as the printer's copy for the the engraving of the score which was undertaken by Josef Eberle & Co (Erste Wiener Zeitungsgesellschaft) before 6 June 1902 (see the description of first proofs (ACPF1pr1)). The casting-off of the score has been marked up in pencil by a member of Eberle staff, but apparently no thorough attempt was made at any point to collate this score with the piano-vocal score that was being engraved at the same time (ACPV1pr).
