This manuscript in the hand of Max Puttmann, the arranger, served as the printer's copy for the first edition of the orchestral version for low voice (the plate numbers 8093 [score] and 8094 [Orch-St.] have been added to fol. 1r), but the exact date at which it was prepared is uncertain. The first edition was probably published in 1919, some time after the low-voice piano and voice score (PV1t1). A pencil note at the top of p. 1 states: Autographie von Partitur und Stimmen 4° Format. The front leaf of a very lightweight paper wrapper also survives (pencil, unidentified hand):
