Notes |
|
When originally prepared, the song began like
the
sketch with what is now b.4 (staves 35): subsequently
Mahler drafted three additional bars (bb. 13) on staves 12.
There are numerous other revisions and deletions in the draft. The top, bottom and
fore-edge of the bifolio have been unevenly and irregularly
trimmed rendering most of the text of the paper maker's mark
unreadable, but the design is unmistakably that of Eberle's
registered trademark. |
